It is with sadness, the family of Conrad Claude Lutes announces his passing on August 4, 2015 in VG Hospital site, QEII, Halifax. He will be sadly missed by his devoted and loving wife of 33 years, Judy MacPherson. He was predeceased by his parents, Preston Lutes and Reta Buraglia Lutes. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick he was raised and educated in Truro, N.S. and graduated from Saint Mary's University. Conrad retired from CBC after 34 rewarding years as a broadcast journalist in Goose Bay and Halifax. Conrad enjoyed a relentless passion for life. He found pleasure in everyday living and without exception, brought pleasure to others every day. An astute observer and commentator, Conrad loved a good discussion after dinner and a glass of fine scotch. Whether military history, family heritage or stamps, he was intrigued by fine detail, intellectual curiosity and possessed encyclopedic knowledge. He took pride in serving in military reserve units across Atlantic Canada for many years. Along with his spouse, Conrad is survived by his brother Kurt (Deborah Wheeler), sister in laws, Jean Chaisson (Gordon), Margie MacPherson, Bernadette MacPherson (George Salmaniw), brother in laws, Duncan MacPherson (Janet), Tom MacPherson (Bev), Terry MacPherson (Debbie). He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Kristin, Caitlin, Natalie, Terri, John Malcolm, twins, Calum and Madeline, Colin, Trudi, Yurij, and Sophia. Special thanks to staff and doctors of the Kidney Transplant Team, 6B, ICU and the dialysis unit at the VG Site QE ll. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cole Harbour Funeral Home & Crematorium. No visitation or service by request. There will be private celebration of Conrad's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to The Canadian Kidney Foundation, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or charity of choice.
