Walter Joseph "Joe"
Born September 24, 1938 in St. John's, Newfoundland, passed away surrounded by his loving family in his 77th year on October 9, 2015 in Cobourg, Ontario. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Minnie Grace "Peg" Stokes (nee Matthews). Devoted father of Walter Blair (Maria), the late Jonathan (Nelia) and Sonya (Steve Butt). Predeceased by his parents John and Minnie Stokes (nee Walsh). Dear brother of Michael (Angela), Mary (Dan Doran), Joan (Angelo Randall), the late Patricia (Lloyd James), James (Theresa), and Masie (Fred Giles). Loving brother-in-law of Clarice Mills and the late Hayward and Hazel Matthews. Cherished grandfather of Andrew (Ashley), Amanda (Rob Deak), Joshua (Courtney), Christian (Monica), Keana, Kristina and Liam. Much loved great-grandfather of Kali Maria. Joe will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Memorial service and cremation took place on October 15, 2015 at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg Ontario. A celebration of Joe's life will take place in Newfoundland at a future date.
