The families of Jerry Jenkins wish to announce his passing on Feb. 27, 2016 in Hinton, Alta., at the age of 80 years.
Left to remember his legacy and treasure all he was, is his loving family; beloved wife of 55 years, Yvonne and their children, Cathy Flagler, Carol (Rob) Oksanen, Raymond (Debbie) Jenkins and Darrel (Patsy) Jenkins, all of Hinton, Alta. and son, Bill (Penny) Jenkins of Stony Plain, Alta. Jerry is survived by his treasured 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as brothers, Doug (Ann) Jenkins and Freeman (Joan) Jenkins, both of Nova Scotia; sisters, Elaine (Ches) Caines, Donna Burke, Brenda (Tommy) Campbell, all of Nova Scotia and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Freeman and Hazel Jenkins; one son, Roy Jenkins; sister, Marie McCumber and sister, Barb Nicholson.
A Celebration of Life for Jerry will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the Hinton United Church. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cote, nurse Yvette and the rest of the nursing staff for taking such good care of Jerry. Your kindness and compassion were very much appreciated.
The family suggests that if desired, a donation can be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital, 1502 College Plaza, 8215-112 St., Edmonton, Alta., T6G 2C8, in Gerald Jenkins’s memory.
