Alvina Marie Greene, 88, of Surrey B.C, passed away March 17th, 2016 in White Rock, B.C. at Peach Arch Hospital. Funeral service will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church in Maple Ridge, B.C. on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery for the family, reception for friends and family at the Church. Reverend Maggie Cole officiating. Alvina was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Edith and Harold Rose on December 3, 1927. She grew up in Sydney, Nova Scotia and married Robert Greene October 1950. They moved to Montreal in 1952 and then on to Vancouver, B.C in 1972. She was a devoted wife, homemaker and wonderful mother.
Alvina married Victor Large after relocating to Vancouver Island from 1993 to 2011. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed travelling often throughout her life.
Alvina is survived by her brother Charlie Rose (Ellen) of Sydney, N.S, sister Laura Albee of Ellsworth, Maine, sister Dolores Drennan of Sydney, N.S, sister Audrey Rose of Sydney, N.S. Daughter, Carol Huckschlag (Adolph) son Gary Greene, all of Surrey, B.C., daughter Linda Greene, son Peter Greene (Tracy) and daughter, Heather Schwebius (James) all of Kelowna, B.C.
Grand children, Tanner Liskop (Katy), Krista Hebert (Dan), Stephanie Huckschlag (Jason), Kira Liskop, Carly Greene Hill, Alisha Greene, Maddison Greene, Hannah Greene, Jennifer Greene, Kristie Greene, Cole Schwebius, Charlie Schwebius. Great grandmother to Molly Liskop and Kalon Hebert. Alvina leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews who all enjoyed her visits to Nova Scotia and Maine.
Predeceased by husband, Robert Greene, in 1988 and husband, Victor Large in 2014. Brother Alfred Rose of Sydney, N.S., and sister, Diane Cameron of Sydney, N.S.
