With broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather & father-in-law. The family circle has been broken & can never be whole again. Ashley was born in Truro, Nova Scotia. He grew up around the Stewiacke-Shubenacadie area, having a very happy childhood with lots of fond memories of family & friends. Among his many loves & hobbies were old cars & collecting antiques. He was a bit of a poet & what he would refer to as doodlings were more artistic than he would admit. He loved, & was always there for, his children. He couldn’t wait to spend time with his granddaughters, giving hugs & love to last forever. Ashley was a hard working man & succeeded at all he pursued. He was a man who was larger than life itself. He will be profoundly missed by his wife Joan, daughter Sondra, son Shawn, daughter-in-law Donna & granddaughters Brynne & Jenna, also his sidekick Chloe, a chocolate point himalayan. He also leaves behind two sisters Gertie (PEI) & Shirley (NS) & many nieces & nephews. Ashley was predeceased by his parents Walter & Annie (Anthony), two brothers & six sisters. The family would like to thank the Doctors & Staff at the Langley Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
