YORKE, Arnold “Ralph” – age 80, Cambridge, Kings Co., formerly of Waterville/Black Rock, passed away on March 29, 2016, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late Arnold L. and Gladys E. (Veinotte) Yorke. Ralph was a devoted husband to Geraldine for 36 years. He was a veteran member of the Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department, with 30 years of volunteer service. Ralph had been a truck driver for most of his life for various companies and in later years owned and operated Ralph’s Flag Service and most recently Yorke’s Taxi Service. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Surviving are his wife the former Geraldine R. Burns Cochrane; children, Debbie (Doug) Brown, Gail (Roger Harris) Stirling, Curtis York, Gwen (Derrick) Stairs, Tina (Thomas) Mautino; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step children, Susan (the late Ellis Gordon) Crossland, Heather (Orley) Lutz and Jamie (Audrey Amero) Cochrane; six step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilfred and Lewis Yorke; sisters, Marjorie Branton, Patsy Butts and Eileen Veldhoven; half-sister, Barbara Dansart; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by brothers, Cecil, James and Wayne Yorke; niece, Nancy Yorke-Toops. There will be no visitation. All are welcome to attend a graveside service that will take place at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 12, at the Berwick Cemetery with Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to the Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
