On August 4th Amelia Hammond entered into the kingdom of heaven at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years Harold Hammond in 2013; sister Catherine Picco; sisters-in-law: Rose, Lottie and Doris; brothers-in-law Gordon Aylward, David Picco, Max Hammond, Reg Hammond and Albert Hammond. Loved and missed by her devoted son John (Vickie); sister Violet Aylward; brother Robert Pittman (Linda); brothers-in-law: Eric (Ruby) and Dick; sisters-in-law: Jessie Squires and Carrie Pynn, as well as other relatives and many dear friends. Visitations will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, August 8th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm and Tuesday, August 9th from 10am - 12pm, 2pm - 4pm, and 7pm - 9pm. Funeral service will be held from St. David's Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, August 10th at 2pm. Private family burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Millie's memory may be made to St. David's Presbyterian Church, SPCA, Lung Association of Newfoundland, or a charity of one's choice.
