Our cherished and beautiful Cheryl passed away with dignity and grace at her home in Oakville, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

She leaves to mourn and celebrate her life her wonderful husband Greg, their special girls Sarah and Chelsea, her much adored parents Barry and Gladys Stacey, her parents-in-law Gilbert and Lorraine Barlow, her sister- in- law Christine and husband Loren Drotos, her amazing grandmother Annie Brennan as well as countless aunts and uncles from the Stacey-Brennan families, the McCormick family, numerous cousins (who often called her Aunt), her sister by heart Nicole Frew and many dear friends.

Born and raised in Marystown, Newfoundland, Cheryl never forgot her roots. She left home to pursue studies at Dalhousie University, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1996 (Hon. Finance & Medalist). She completed her Doctor of Law (J.D) at University of Toronto in 1999. She spent her entire career with McMillan Law Firm. She was partner and co-chair of Financial Services and was known for her sincerity, loyalty, humor and sharp legal mind. Cheryl was recognized as one of the leading practitioners in her field from 2013-2017. She had a special interest in promoting and supporting women in the legal profession.

In addition to her career, Cheryl had many passions and a zest for life that was hard to describe. She was an avid sports enthusiast with a deep love of all things Edmonton Oilers and New England Patriots. She loved to travel and experiment with food and wine from around the world. Cheryl was a people person extraordinaire. Everyone who met her commented on her warm and caring nature and she touched the hearts of many. She was devoted to Greg, Sarah and Chelsea and they brought so much joy to her life. She was never more alive than when she was surrounded by her large and spirited extended family and friends. She never lost that zest for life, despite her long struggle with breast cancer.

The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care and support provided by the medical team and other health professionals at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto and Dr. Lynne Benjamin and the Halton CCAC.

She will be sadly missed and forever remembered.

She was predeceased by her grandparents Michael Brennan, Alfred & Priscilla Stacey, Aunt Pamela Stacey, and cousins Robert Brennan, Hope Brennan and Jakob Clarke as well as Greg's grandparents, Thomas and Mary Elizabeth McCormick, and Gertrude and William Barlow.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown, on Tuesday, October 25th, at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment followed at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the organization of your choice for breast cancer research.

Don't cry because it is over. Smile because it happened.
