Anne was born to Wasylena and Peter Madryga on January 30, 1928, in the
Sunnybrook district near Codette, SK. She was the eldest of 5 children.
She attended Sunnybrook school and Nipawin Composite High School. Upon graduating, she attended Teachers college in Saskatoon and graduated with a Teaching diploma. Anne taught in various rural schools and in 1955 she met and married her true love, John Franc. Soon after, they moved to Prince Albert. John and Anne were blessed with two children, Brian and Carol.
Anne worked at various jobs through her working career. She was
employed at the Victoria union Hospital in administration and when her
children were kindergarten age she opened and ran her own private
kindergarten. Anne ended her working career at Journey's End Hotel and
officially retired at age 65.
Through the years, Family time was spent camping, fishing and visiting
with many friends. Anne was a talented homemaker and gardener. She was
skilled at sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and preserving. She had the ability to transform a scrap of fabric into a beautiful piece. She loved to share all of her handiwork and she enjoyed entertaining friends and family with her home cooked meals and goodies. In their retirement years, Anne and john welcomed four grandchildren. The grandkids were Anne's greatest treasures. She loved to spend time with them, sharing her skills and ensuring that they always had a homemade cuddle quilt, cozy pajamas, and other homemade treasures. John and Anne had a big circle of coffee buddies whom they loved to meet and visit with through the years.
In 2013, Anne relocated to Camrose to be closer to her children. She
quickly made new friends and felt safe and comfortable with her family
nearby.
Anne will be remembered for her amazing intellect, her strength and work
ethic, and her friendly and outgoing personality. She was generous and
kind, a wonderful provider, and loved to share her recipes and her
homemade goods.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Brian (Muni Prasad) Franc;
Carol (Jeff) Naslund; her grandchildren, Olivia Olsen-Franc, Ryan and
Devin Naslund, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, John, grandson, Ty Naslund, her
parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed all the days of our
lives.
