John Michael Ardelli

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of John Ardelli, on January 17, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Spagnolatti) Ardelli. He was employed with the Sydney Steel for 30 years until his retirement. John enjoyed hunting, fishing and drag racing. He was a great prankster. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he adored his grandchildren. John is survived by his loving wife, Lynda (MacLean) Ardelli; children, Barbara (Dennis) Mattie, Sydney, Bernadette Ardelli (Minseok Chae), Brandon, Manitoba, Virgil (Tracy - #1 daughter-in-law) Ardelli, Sydney; his precious grandchildren, Anthony, Taylor, Jessica, Kerri, Luca, Emilio, Sophia and Bianca. He is also survived his siblings, Loretta Ardelli, Dorothy (Ken) Assoun, Catherine Russo, Laura (Terry) Brolund, Jerome Ardelli, Jareth Ardelli, Juliana Moore; Lynda’s siblings, Susan, Anna, Kathy, Lena, Jim (Hope), Annette ‘Toots’, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, two uncles and an aunt.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., from 6-9 p.m. A memorial service will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in the chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow.
