Donna, age 73, passed away March 12th in Sydney.
She was born December 5, 1943 in Windsor, N.S., to Willard & Ruth Duncan. She is survived by her husband, Michael Pembroke; daughters, Kimberly Donovan-Wolcott, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Kelly Donovan, Toronto, Ontario; sons, Mathew Shannon Donovan (Lee Ann), Nakina, Ont.
and Stephen Donovan, Oromocto, N.B.; step-children, Cindy (Pembroke) Braunmiller (Trevor) and David (Mary) Pembroke; her grandchildren, Rebecca & Carter Donovan and step-grandchildren, Michael Braunmiller, and Amanda, Anita, Michael, Emily, Charlie, Mary & Paddy Pembroke; her sisters, Betty (George) Shipley, Belleville, Ont, Shirley (Tibby) McKay, Windsor, N.S., and Carol Ann (Bob) Evans, New Glasgow. She is also survived by many friends and fellow volunteers who also loved her dearly.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Gordon (Buster), Donald and Raymond and sisters, Claire (Doug) Palmer, and Joan (Dennis) Foley.
She was a fixture at the Mayflower Mall, first with Kinney Shoes then with Tan-Jay. She met Michael Pembroke and they were married in 2004. They resided in New Victoria before moving to Caribou Marsh where she resided until her death. Cremation has taken place and an informal celebration of her life will take place at her home (2630 Gabarus Hwy) Thursday March 16, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's wish foundation.
