GLEN L. (PIKE) LEACHMAN
LEACHMAN, GLEN L. (PIKE) 1916-2003 Glen (Pike) Leachman passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2003 at the Veteran's Health Unit after a lengthy illness. Pike was predeceased by his wife Audrey, parents Harry and Evelyn (White) Leachman, a sister Helen and brothers Vaughan and Donald (Red) Leachman. He is survived by loving sons Robin and Glen, and a beloved daughter-in-law Nancy, a sister Betty Prime, and sisters-in-law Shirley Leachman and Betty Leachman as well as many nieces and nephews. Pike was a member of the 90th Battery and served in Mediterranean, Sicily and Italy and at the Battle of Ortona. A decorated veteran, he was wounded in action on December 21, 1943. He was employed by CNR until his retirement and later worked as a Commissionaire. Throughout his life he made many friends and considered members of the 90th to be his second family. A gardener of great knowledge, with a great love of nature, Pike spent his summers involved in his favorite pastime. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Keddy, the nurses and staff of the Veteran's Health Unit-Regent Wing. Your kindness, thoughtful care and humor will be remembered forever. At Pike's request, there will be no visitation. Memorial service will be held at Christ Church Parish Church on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Ven. John Sharpe officiating. Internment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish donations may be made to the Veterans Mini Bus or to the charity of donors choice.
