TOFT, GERALD ARTHUR At the Dr. Everett Chalmers hospital with his family at his side on Sunday, May 11, 2003, our dear Jerry passed away from this life to be reunited with his father Arthur B. Toft and his mother Mabel (Edwards) Toft. Very beloved friend and husband of Jean (Stewart) Toft of 37 years, loving father of Gary Toft and Patti-Leigh Armour, and cherished grandfather to Morgan, Katie and Kelsey Armour. He will be missed greatly by his sister Pat MacDonald of Fredericton, his niece and nephew, and countless friends whose prayers sustained him during throughout his illness. Born February 1, 1942, in Belleville, ON, Jerry worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia before becoming a contract administrator with the New Brunswick Department of Transportation where he worked for 35 years. He took great joy from singing in the choir and men's quartet as a devoted member of the Olivet Wesleyan Church. Our family will receive friends at York Funeral Home, Fredericton North, on Wednesday, May 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 pm from Olivet Wesleyan Church. Rev. Dr. Tom Ward will officiate, assisted by Rev. Greg Dakin. Pallbearers for the service will be: Richard McLean, Conard Symonds, Claude Underhill, Cliff Cummings, Bryan MacDonald, Fred Symonds and Dave Dorcas. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. A reception will follow to share Jerry's stories and celebrate his life. If desired, remembrances may be made to the Olivet Wesleyan Church, Diabetes Association or Lung Association.
