GERALD CHESTER YERXA

YERXA, GERALD CHESTER Gerald Chester Yerxa of Mactaquac, N.B. died peacefully in his sleep on December 10, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Born August 20, 1930 at Mactaquac, N.B., he was the son of the late Lydia Jane (Brewer) and Chester Samuel Yerxa and husband of Violet Gertrude (McGeehan) Yerxa. He was an employee of Mactaquac Provincial Park for 25 years retiring in 1991. Gerald is survived by his loving wife Violet; two daughters Gail Violet Corey (Leo), Geraldine Mae Pike (Leslie) and two sons, Daniel Gerald Yerxa (Joy) and Beverly Gene Yerxa (Anna Mae); grandchildren Leona Gail Corey, Laura Anne Killgore (Leon), Wayne Darrell Pike (Anne) and Trevor Daniel McGeehan Yerxa; eight brothers and sisters Gertrude McKeen, Greta McLaughlin, Russell Yerxa, Ruth Hill (Ferg), Wayne (Trudy), Arden, Connie LeBritton (George), Philip (Beverley); several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers Royden, Dale, Harold; sister Margoire and two infant sisters Muriel and Evelyn and an infant brother David. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton with visiting on Thursday 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roger Urquhart officiating. Interment in the Mactaquac Cemetery at a later date.
