PHYLLIS MARGARET HOVEY
HOVEY, PHYLLIS MARGARET The death of Phyllis Margaret Hovey, wife of the late Melvin Hovey, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday December 13, 2003. Born at home in Marysville, N.B., Phyllis was the daughter of the late Ritchie and Margaret (McManus) Gorman. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Phyllis was a member of the Marysville United Church, Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, reading her history, biography and poetry books, enjoyed bridge, music, and had a love of nature. She is survived by two sons: Richard J. Hovey and Kevin M. Hovey (Vickie) of Nashwaak Bridge, NB; two daughters: Marcia McLellan (Fred) of Taymouth NB and Carolyn Scott (Jim) of Charlottetown PEI; a brother, James Gorman (Jean) of Parksville BC; a sister, Dorothy Wright (William) of Hanwell NB; a sister in-law, Irma Wilson (Jack) of Fredericton, NB; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she is predeceased by one brother, Ritchie "Buddy" Gorman. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home 302 Brookside Dr. Fredericton on Monday from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Marysville United Church on Tuesday at 1pm with Rev. Mac Campbell officiating. Eastern Star Tribute Service will be held on Monday at 7 PM at the York Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
