ELVINA (HEBERT) COMEAU

COMEAU, ELVINA (HEBERT) The passing of Elvina Comeau (Hebert) of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on May 23, 2004 after a lengthy illness. A daughter of the late Pierre and Marie Herbert, Elvina was born in Claire- Fontaine in 1921. In 1941 she married William Comeau at Pointe Sapin. They lived in Claire-Fontaine prior to moving to Fredericton in 1964. Elvina was a caring mother who gardened, knitted and sewed to provide for her family and endured many hardships throughout her life. She will be sadly missed by the family and those who knew her. Elvina is survived by 10 children, Meldric (Edmay) of Richibucto, Eddy of Fredericdton, Jeannette Reimer (Murray) of Swift Current, SK, Lauda Reimer of Red Deer, AB, Germaine of Fredericton, Lena Selland (Marvin) of Prince George, BC, Amelia of Fredericton, Norman (Rita) of Penniac, Billy (Cheryl) of Delburne, AB, and Aurele of Fredericton, 26 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, Delima (Alderick) Doucette, Emma Comeau and brother-in-law Dick Comeau of St. Louis de Kent. She was predeceased by her husband, William Comeau (August 15, 2003); a son, Alyre (December 1996); her parents, Pierre and Marie Hebert; and nine sisters. There will be no visitation by request. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 2 p.m. from Our Lady of Fatima Church, Marysville with Rev. John Malasi Ighacho as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
