NORMAN EMERY CLYNICK
CLYNICK, NORMAN EMERY The death of Norman E. Clynick, of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing in Saint John, NB on Saturday, January 20th, 2007 at the age of 87. Born in Fredericton, NB he was the son of the late George and Annie (Dougherty) Clynick and husband of the late Viola Mae (Munn) Clynick. After graduating from Fredericton High School, Norm served in the 7th Anti Tank Regiment of the 90th Battery of the Royal Canadian Army. He served overseas during the war and was involved with various campaigns including North Africa and Italy. After the war, Norm worked for 27 years as a letter carrier with Canada Post until his retirement in 1979. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. Surviving are his nephew Michael MacKinnon, Fredericton, NB and nieces, Kimberley Hughes, Saint John, NB, Deborah MacKinnon, Moncton, NB, and Heather MacNeil, Fredericton, NB as well as several other nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, he was predeceased by sisters, Lenore (Noies), Marjorie (Desjardins), Beatrice (Wood), Dorothy (Kerr) and brothers, Spencer, George and Arthur. There will be no visitation or service by request. A graveside service will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Norm's honor may be made to the Veteran's Comfort Fund - Ridgewood Veterans Wing in Saint John or a charity of the donor's choice.
