Turner

Date de naissance : 16 novembre 1928

Date de décès : 18 octobre 2008

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a special wife and mother, Margaret Elaine Turner, on Saturday, October 18, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer. Marg was born November 16, 1928, the only child of Adam and Emma Diemal. She attended Becker School near Gravelbourg and Central Collegiate in Moose Jaw. Marg worked a variety of jobs including waitressing at the Exchange Caf%C3%A9, grocery cashier at the Moose Jaw Co-op, and being 'the chip lady' (demonstrating Hostess potato chips). Her chosen career was being a wife to Howard and mother to Lori and Cory. Marg enjoyed crocheting in her spare time and shared the many afghans she made with family and friends, including donating some to charity. She had a great love for animals and over the years shared her home with many furry friends. Marg also loved her many houseplants and outdoor flowers. Predeceased by her parents, Adam and Emma Diemal and her parents-in-law, Thomas and Elizabeth Turner, Marg is survived by her husband of 57 years, Howard; her children: Lori (John) Craig and Cory (Liana); sister-in-law, Ruth (Alvin) Wight, brother-in-law, John (Glenna), and several nieces and nephews. Marg also leaves behind her canine companion, Gypsy. A memorial come & go tea will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2008; 2-4 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. A tribute to Marg's life will begin at 2:30p.m. presented by Della Ferguson. Memorialization will take place at a later time. To honour Marg, instead of flowers, charitable contributions to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658, Moose Jaw, S6H 7K7 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2 would be greatly appreciated. The family wish to thank the wonderful staff at Pioneer Lodge for the exceptional care Marg received during her brief stay; with a special thank you to Cathy and Margo for looking after Marg with such tender care and compassion. In living memory of Margaret, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register book at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
