STEEVES, WALTER WILLIAM (BILL) The death of Walter William (Bill) Steeves, age 94 of Fredericton, NB, wife of Muriel (Allen) Steeves occurred on Sunday, September 23rd, 2007 at the York Manor Nursing Home. Born in Fredericton, NB, son of the late James A. and Mary A. (Charters) Steeves. Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife Muriel; his son, Walter W, Steeves (Connie) of Fredericton, NB; his daughter Lydie Mawhinney (Bud) of Fredericton, NB; one brother, Perley Steeves (Frances) of Moncton, NB; one sister, Mary Laurie of Woodstock, NB; five grandchildren, Lisa Power (Joe), Peter Mawhinney, Heather Mather (Scott), Jennifer Steeves (Joe Bonner) and Richard Steeves (Heather); nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, William and Frank; 5 sisters, Margaret Beairsto, Lydia Cameron, Doris Wood, Frances Cudahy, and Ellen Anderson. Bill was a longtime and active member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church and had served as Deacon. For many years, Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Luxor Temple and the Fredericton Curling Club. The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Select Community Funeral, 160 York Street Fredericton, (458-9170) on Tuesday, September 25th, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will take place in the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
