DARLOW, "JAKE" DOUGLAS RICHARD It is with great sadness that the family of Jake Darlow of Burton, NB, announce his passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Wednesday, January 16th, 2008. Jake was born in Montreal, PQ and joined the military at a young age. He devoted most of his working life to the Canadian Armed Forces. His final posting was at Base Gagetown and it is here that he settled. Jake was a loving companion, father and grandfather and he enjoyed his career and watching sports on TV. He was also a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93. He will be sadly missed by his long-time companion of 30 years, Lynn Acorn. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved children, Nancy Beer (partner, David Potts) of Charlottetown, PE and Peter Darlow of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Haley, Stephanie and Tanner Beer all of Charlottetown, PE; Lynn's children, Charlene (Brian), George, Sterling (Barb) and Michael Acorn as well as Lynn's grandchildren, Lisa, Stacey, Jeffery and Carson. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Saturday, January 19th, 2008 at 10:00 am. Rev. Maurice Swift officiating.
