CLOWATER, DORIS MIRIAM (WILSON) It is with sadness that we announce that Mrs. Doris Clowater, 88, of Pointe-Claire, QC, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Lakeshore General Hospital surrounded by her immediate family after a long battle with Alzheimers. Beloved wife of the late Hudson Clowater, she is survived by her son Wayne (Colette) of North Tetagouche, N.B.; her daughter, Heather of Pierrefonds, QC; her grandchildren, Christopher Clowater of Sault Ste-Marie, ON., Kathryn Clowater of Fredericton, N.B., and Marissa Carnevale of Pierrefonds, Qc. She also leaves behind her sisters, Eleanor Marcus of Victoria, B.C., Joyce (George Pridham) of Saint-John, N.B., Norine Summerby of Brockville, ON., and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Miriam Wilson, granddaughter Andrea Clowater and special friend Patrick McCarragher. Born in Saint John, N.B., she graduated from Acadia University and then taught Home Economics in Saint-John, Fredericton, Lennoxville and in Pointe-Claire at both John Rennie and Lindsay Place High Schools until her retirement. She loved to cook, sew, play bridge, garden, travel, entertain guests, and was a founding member of St. John's United Church where she was active in church programs such as Meals on Wheels, UCW and was an Elder for many years. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother and a caring aunt. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 1 p.m. at St-John's United Church, 98 Aurora, Pointe-Claire.
