BABSTOCK, JANE Surrounded by her loving family, Jane Babstock of Fredericton, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on January 7, 2009 at the age of 68. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Maggie Devine (McDiarmid). Jane was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, member of the Eastern Star Society and the Retired Nurses Association. She also was a volunteer worker with the Wheels to Meals program. She is survived by her husband Tom, two daughters Shona of Ontario and Lindsay (Martin) Hann of Fredericton; grandchildren Kirk and Alexandra Gilbert and Rowena Hann; one brother, Thomas Devine (Jean) and nephew Scott Devine and many cousins of Scotland , as well as many in-laws in Cape Breton who she frequently visited. She will be missed by all. Following cremation, a funeral service will be held on Saturday January 10, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, with visitation from 1 to 3 with Rev. Doug Blaikie officiating. Interment at a later date. Eastern Star will hold a tribute service at 2:30 PM, prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
