MARR, OTIS MANFORD - Surrounded by his family the death of Otis Manford Marr, husband of the late Dorothy (Jacques) Marr, occurred peacefully on March 15, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Rothesay, NB, he was the son of the late Ira and Lillian (Lawrence) Marr. He was a barber by trade which he practiced while he served during WW II with the Canadian Army. He was self employed in his various interests including his barber shop in Fairvale, his TV and appliance shop, his garage business, and ran a bingo hall and pool parlor, was the first school bus driver in the Fairvale area, was a home and apartment building contractor, and owned apartment buildings. He enjoyed his southern winter vacations. He was an avid dart player with the RCL Branch #58, was involved with various bowling leagues and enjoyed golf. He was a loving father and grandfather and dearly cherished his great-grandchildren. He is survived by his son Harry Ira (Bob) Marr and his wife Betty of Lepreau, his daughters Joyce and her husband Gerald DeFazio of Hammond River, Donna and her husband Richard Cormier of Rothesay, his brother Cecil Marr and his wife Mary of Gondola Point, his sisters Winnifred Homer of Pennsylvania, Bernice Fletcher of Ontario, his grandchildren Larry, Ricky, Kathy, Timmy, Jackie, Kimberley, Susan, Donna, Cindy and Pam, his twenty great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family is thankful for the friendship and care given by Sam Colpitts, Marie Colpitts and Donna Saunders. He was predeceased by his brother Theodore, his sister Bertha Northrup, and his grandson Tony DeFazio. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at 1:00 PM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at the Gondola Point Baptist Cemetery.
