HEFFERNAN, EMERALD A. - The death of Emerald A. Heffernan of 26 Orange St., wife of George P. Heffernan, occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, January 18, 2004. Mrs. Heffernan was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Muldoon) Woodworth. She had been employed as a telephone operator at Centracare until her retirement a number of years ago. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. At the request of the family there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
