BLAIR "MAC" HOVEY
HOVEY, BLAIR "MAC" - 1925-2007. Blair "Mac" Hovey of Plaster Rock passed away at the Edmundston Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 21, 2007. Born in Blissville, NB on July 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Gordon and Mary (Weaver) Hovey. Mac leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Monica Hovey (Burns); his daughters, Jane Veysey (Ralph Phillips) of Sussex, Donna (Roger) St. Peter of Sisson Ridge, Margie (Ronald Eccleston) Hovey of Anderson Road, Mary (Billy Ward) Hovey of Sisson Ridge, Patricia (Herman Craig) Hovey of Plaster Rock; his sons, Robert (Debbie) Hovey of Salisbury, John (Deanna) Hovey of Sisson Ridge; his sister, Margaret Shaddick of Miramichi; sister-in-law, Jessie Hovey of Miramichi; 10 grandsons, four granddaughters, one great grandson, several nieces and nephews. Mac was predeceased by his sisters, Jenny Russell and Grace MacLean; his brothers, Robert and Wilson "Mug" Hovey. Mac served during WWII with the North Shore Regiment and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #29. He was also a member of the Tobique Lions Club. Mac was very involved in community volunteering. Resting at Tobique Chapel in Plaster Rock with visitation on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 11:00 AM from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Father Curtis Sappier officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
