LEROY CHESTER FLAGG
FLAGG, LEROY CHESTER - Leroy Chester Flagg, (85) of North Head Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital October 25, 2007. He was born of the late Ainsley and Elva (Parker) Flagg. Leroy worked all of his life in the fishing industry; he lobster fished in his early years from a dory, worked at weir fishing and was most known for his entrepreneurial skills that earned him the title "King of Dulse" as one of the first original wholesalers of dulse. He enjoyed 65 years in business most which he worked with his late wife, Angeline (Angie) and his son, Gerry. He is survived by his son, Gerald (Gerry) Flagg (Joanne) of North Head, one Sister; Leola Wormell, North Head, two brothers; Roland (Flora) and Glendon, both of Castalia. His three grandchildren, Justin, Jodi, and Jada, three great grandchildren; Tristin, Gage, Kasey; several nieces and nephews. Also besides his wife, Angeline he was predeceased by one grandchild, Jerri - Ann; six sisters, Kathleen, Lillian, Iva, Beatrice, Belva, Mary, two brothers; Frederick and Rexford. There will be visiting for the family at Ells Funeral home on Friday evening from 7-9 pm October 26th, and a memorial service to be announced at a later time.
