MERCER, DONALD S. - The death of Donald Stewart Mercer of Saint John, occurred on April 4, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Devoted Husband of Evelyn (Sullivan) Mercer, he was born in Saint John 1936 to the late Deinstadt and Vera (Pye) Mercer. Donald worked at the Cathedral and retired in 1997. He was also a member of The Men of the Cathedral. Besides his wife Evelyn of 41 years, he is survived by special cousins and goddaughter, Carol Anne and Garnett Hagerman and their daughter, Stacey. Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Following cremation a private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
