ALCHORN, BARBARA JOANN - The death of Barbara JoAnn Alchorn of Saint John, NB wife of the late John J. Alchorn, occurred on April 1, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 6, 1933, a daughter of the late Walter and Lena (Fawcett) Edwards. Barbara was a former member of Sea Bells and Park Avenue Church Choir. Survived by her five children, John (Donna) of Elmsdale, NS, David (Karen) Alchorn, Debbie (Raymond) Garnett, Edward "Bub" (Marlene), all three of Saint John and Jennifer (Bernie) Pettipas of Dartmouth, NS; two brothers, Rev. Tom (Debbie) Robinson of Saint John and Walter (Rita) Edwards of Smith Falls, ON; two sisters, Helen (Albert) Skuce of South Carolina and Carol (John) Worden of Saint John; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, John (1998), a brother, Fred Edwards and a great-grandson, Ashton John Garnett-LeBlanc. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:30 am. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
