Violet Carter 1916 - 2003 The death of Violet Carter of Spencer Home and formerly of King Street Moncton occurred at her residence on Tuesday, February 18, 2003. Born March 13, 1916 in Montreal, she was the daughter of the late John and Harriet (Atkinson) Bovard. Mrs Carter had been employed with The Moncton Hospital Housekeeping Department for 28 years prior to her retirement. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Gibson (Murray) of Fredericton; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Carter of Moncton; grandchildren, Teddy Gibson, Karen Gibson, both of Fredericton, Todd (Christine) Carter and Lisa Carter all of Moncton. She is also survived by three great grandsons and her niece Mae Gallant of Moncton. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold James R. Carter in 1949; and her son, Richard James Carter in 1998. A private family service was held and interment took place in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Violet's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
