Gladys Marie Power
Gladys Marie Power 1929 - 2007 Gladys Marie Power, 78, of Grass Special Care Home, Riverview and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12th, 2007 at the Special Care Home. Gladys was born in Hillsborough on November 22nd, 1929 the daughter of the late William and Minnie (Stiles) Hanson. Gladys was a very active member of the St. Mary's Anglican Church in Hillsborough where she taught Sunday School for a number of years and she was very devoted to the ACW. She was a very kind and giving lady who always made time for others. Gladys would always greet you with a smile. She treasured times spent with family, her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she was very proud of them. She was a very special lady who will be remembered for her gentle manner by all who knew her. She will be missed by her son, Michael Power of Riverview; daughter-in-law, Sandra Maillet of Riverview; and by her precious grandchildren, Joel and Neil. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Emmerson Power; brother, Lloyd Hanson; sisters, Deanna Beers and Marjorie Vardigans. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church, Hillsborough, on Wednesday, May 16th, 2007 at 2:00pm with Rev. Kevin Stockall officiating. The family will be having a time of visitation from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2pm. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends in the church basement for further sharing of memories and for refreshments. Gladys will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Emmerson, in the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough.
