78, Sydney It is with broken hearts, we the family of Philip O'Rourke, 78, of Cameron Street, announce his sudden passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Holyrood, Nfld., he was the son of the late Francis and Sarah (Timmons) O'Rourke. Phil was retired, as a delivery driver for Imperial Oil for 32 years. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Church and a member of NNS Highlander, ICHB 27th Brigade. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many summers at their trailer at Lake Ainslie. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Hattie (Richardson); daughters, Debra, Peggy (Jay) King, Susan (Mic) Hardy, Phyllis (Sheldon) Covey, all of South Bar, Colleen (Glenn) Tighe, Sydney, Maureen (Jim MacArthur), Howie Centre; sons, Philip (Leanne Matheson), B.C., Sean (Tracey), St. Stephen, N.B.; sisters, Bride (the late Charlie) Drohan, Sydney, Peg (the late Bud) Carrie, Oshawa; brother, Jack (Kathleen), Sydney; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a stepmother, Susie Hollohan and a sister, Kate. A funeral mass will take place Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating. Memorials may be made to the Holy Redeemer Church building fund. "Enjoy your Green, Green Grass of home.
