Leo Patrick Fougere Leo Patrick Fougere, 82, Dartmouth, passed away on June 16, 2009, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax on October 1, 1926, son of the late Capt. Amedee and Juliette (Gagnon) Fougere. Leo worked for Swift Canadian Meat Packers in Moncton, N.B. and later Gainers Inc. in Dartmouth. After his retirement in 1989 Leo and Yvette returned to the family home in Moncton. Leo had a deep love for his family and a passion for golfing. He dedicated many a day to both. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease in April 2005, Leo resided in Spencer Memorial Home in Moncton, N.B. and Ocean View Manor in Eastern Passage. Leo is survived by his wife of 50 years, Yvette (Gautreau); daughters, Terry (Tony) MacEachern, Mary Lou (Joe) Beaton, and Susan (Chris) Wisen; granddaughters, Amy and Lori MacEachern, Hayley and Chloe Wisen. He is also survived by siblings, Steve Fougere, Dartmouth; Isabel Streit, Halifax, and Jean Anderson, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Leo was predeceased by siblings, Arthur, Clem, Fred, Eddie, Irene, Gerry, Estelle "Bunny", Ella, Mary, Ina and brother, Alfred infancy. Visiting will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen St. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday from St. Peters Roman Catholic Church (Maple Street, Dartmouth), Father Jim Richards, celebrant. Interment will be at a later date in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia would be appreciated.
