Born in Port Greville, he was a son of Emma (Lambert) Bird, Springhill. He is survived by sisters, Chlodine, Italy; Debrah, Toronto; Patsy, Bass River; Betty Lou, Parrsboro; brothers, Donald, Albert, Stanley and Ervin, all of Springhill; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Lorne. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday (April 5, 2007) at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Rev. Greg Doyle officiating. Thompson, 90, of Parrsboro passed away Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Diligent River, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Hattie (Allen) Yorke. She worked in retail sales for many years. She is survived by her husband, Charles Thompson, Waterdown, Ont.; a daughter, Cathy Winters, Parrsboro; a son, Thomas (Janette), Waterdown, Ont.; grandson, Matt-hew Winters, Parrsboro; Jeffrey Thompson (Jill), Ancaster, Ont.; sisters, Georgia Livingston, Parrsboro; a brother, Murray (Sylvia), Lorne-ville, NB; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jean; brothers, Boyd, Osmond, Victor. A private family service will be held at a later date.
