Passed peacefully away at Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Monday, April 13, 2009, Kathleen Whalen of Caplin Cove, aged 77 years. Predeceased by her parents and brother Petley Smith. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Ab of 58 years; daughters: Audrey Stacey (Alf), Donna Peach (Dave) and Liz Stringer (Harry); brother Jack Sweetapple (Chris); sister Marguerite Stringer (Sim); sisters-in-law: Lillian Smith, Gert Smith (Edgar John), Rose Whalen (Eldred) and June Whalen; brothers-in-law: Fred Whalen (Alma) and Otto King; grandchildren: Rob (Cheryl), Jason (Jill) and Stephanie (Victor); great-grandchildren: Jared, Jessica, Aaron, Logan, Kaylee and Hyllary; and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Wesley United Church, Caplin Cove. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2009 from Wesley United Church, Caplin Cove with interment at United Cemetery, Caplin Cove. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dialysis Unit, Waterford Hospital or Wesley United Church Cemetery.
