(Ray) William Raphael Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, September 21, 2008, age 86 years, Ray Fitzgerald, long-time employee of Gaze Seed Co., proprietor of City Cabs, and avid gardener. Ray was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and for anyone that knew him, a true gentleman. Predeceased by his loving wife, Florence, parents Gregory and Nora, brothers: Patrick (Kay), St. John's and Bernard, Corner Brook. Leaving to mourn one son Bill (Connie); three daughters: Linda (Helder Bailote), Karen (Rod Kearsey), Kathy (Mark Sheehy); five grandchildren: Nicole, Melissa, Matthew, Mark and Leah; brothers: Ed (Mary), Ron (Helen); sisters-in-law: Madeline Fitzgerald, Jean Smith, Delores Hart, Ottawa and Mary Hart; special nephew John Fitzgerald; as well as many special nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all his family and friends. Special thanks to the staff of St. Clare's Mercy Hospital and the Hoyles-Escasoni Nursing Home. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 24th at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
