John Stevenson of Pettigrove Crescent, Fredericton, died on April 18th, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was born in England in Skelton-in-Cleveland and came to Canada in 1946. Predeceased by his first wife, Jessie and brother, Geoffrey, he is survived by his wife, Jennie; two brothers, Alan of St. Catharines, ON and Guy of Cleveland, England and several nieces and nephews. He worked for Defence Construction of Base Gagetown and was Technical and Development Officer for the Town of Oromocto. He retired as the Administrator of the Community Planning Branch, Dept. of Municipal Affairs.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no funeral or memorial service. For those who wish, donations in John's name can be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oromocto Funeral Home, 357-5100. www.oromoctofh.com
