FORBES, Howard Eric passed away quietly and peacefully in the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, Colchester County, NS on June 7, 2010. Howard is survived by his devoted and loving wife Lila (Cameron) Forbes, Upper River John Road, son Eric, Dartmouth, sister Edith Leet, Brule and brother Eldon, Millbrook. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Iva (Taylor) Forbes, sisters Sarah, Ruth, Alberta, brothers Murray, and George. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Howard worked for the Canadian Rock Salt Company in Malagash and Pugwash, Cumberland County, NS for 40 years. He enjoyed building houses and deer hunting in the fall. He liked the outdoors and cut his own firewood for years. He enjoyed the many people he met and socialized with at the Truro Mall on a regular basis. Special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Michael Glasgow, nurses and staff at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital for their constant professionalism, personal care and emotional support throughout his entire stay in hospital as well as to Rev. Donald Sutherland for his visits and prayers. A very special gratitude is extended to Jason Smith, a fireman in Barrie, Ontario whom Howard and Lila started to babysit at 31/2 weeks old and who has remained faithful and diligent to them to the present day. Thank you, Jason! Cremation has already taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral by request. Burial will take place at the Forest Hill Cemetery. Denmark at a later date. Memorial donations in Howard's memory may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to MacLeod's Funeral Home, River John.
