HENNESSEY, Evelyn (nee Murphy) - Evelyn has peacefully returned home to her almighty creator on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, in her 91st year. She is now reunited with her loving husband, John Hennessey (1978). Evelyn was born in Bangor, Ireland. She was a proud WWII Veteran, serving in the R.A.F. in England and Ireland, when she met and later married John Hennessey of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland. The family resided in Grand Falls-Windsor until 1966 when they moved to Ottawa, Ontario. She has been living in St. Catharines, Ontario for the past 35 years. Evelyn is survived by her daughter Joanne (Mark) of Israel, grandchildren Sarit (Matan), Akiva (Katri), and Kayla and great-grandchildren Micha-el, Noam, Shem Tov, Lavie, Michal Neshama, Benaya and Yarden, all of Israel. Evelyn is also survived by her sister-in-law and husband, Bernadette and Ron McKelvie of Grand Falls-Windsor. She will be greatly missed by her friends and fellow Legion members in Grand Falls-Windsor and St. Catharines. In accordance with Evelyn's wishes, cremation has taken place. A service was held on Wednesday August 18th at Central Funeral Homes followed by inurnment in the Grand Falls cemetery.
