It is with heavy hearts and much sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister and wife, Helen (Rogers) Roland.
She was the daughter of the late Clarance Rogers and Ethel Spracklin.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wendell Roland; daughters, Shirley Parsons, Halifax, Dale (Philip) MacQueen, Broughton Road; brothers, Gordon (Bessie) Rogers, North Sydney, Sherman (Evelyn) Rogers, Sydney; sisters, Olive Brown, Halifax, Vivian (Mike) Pate, Indiana, U.S.A., Margaret Miller, Calgary. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by his brother, Clarance Rogers, sister, Violet Aitkens and son-in-law, Melvin Parsons.
As a young woman she loved to skate. Mom enjoyed listening to music a great deal. It made her happy. She spent many hours doing seek-a-word puzzle books.
She was a member of the North Sydney Seventh Day Adventist Church. We love her and will miss her a great deal. We look forward to the resurrection morning when Jesus will come in the clouds and call her from her grave to live in a world where we will never have to say goodbye to our loved ones again.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Mom’s life will take place 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 7 at the North Sydney Seventh Day Adventist Church, 31 Peppett St., North Sydney.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice.
