RUDY, Margaret Ann (nee Hanley) — Passed peacefully away in her 69th year at the Leonard A. Miller Center Palliative Care Unit in St. John’s, NL on October 11, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer, in the presence of her loving family and friends. Margaret Ann was a dedicated wife and mother who gave unconditionally, without judgment only acceptance, her love and understanding at all times and her prayers to all who came into her life. A blessed, kind and compassionate woman to everyone. She had a life-long passion for music and was known especially in Newfoundland and Labrador for her talents in voice and piano with a presence on CBC’s Sunday Recital series in the late 60s. Dearly beloved wife of Wayne, proud mother to sons Philip J. (wife Nancy) of Beamsville, Ont., Geoffrey W. of San Francisco, CA and prouder still to be “Gramma” to grand-daughters Hannah (5) and Paige (3). Leaving to mourn also are brothers Phil Hanley, St. John’s, N.L. (wife Frankie), John Hanley, Torbay, N.L.. (wife Winnie), Rick Hanley, Toronto, Ont. (wife Margaret) and Brian Hanley, St. John’s (wife Margie). Left with fond memories are step-daughters Dawn Davis, London, Ont. (husband Shawn), Jennifer Rudy, London, Ont. with their six children Matthew, Timothy, Jonathon, Abigail, Shannon and Stephanie. Margaret Ann also leaves to mourn a large number of cousins, nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends. Special acknowledgement to Margaret Ann’s lifelong and dearest friends, Joan Hollett, St. John’s, N.L., Dr. Elizabeth Callahan, St. John’s, N.L., Joanne Bennett, St. John’s, N.L., Charlotte Cromarty, Kitchener, Ont, Marie Girard, Dartmouth, N.S. and Yvonne Hodder, Halifax, N.S. and the entire wonderful staff of the Miller Centre’s Palliative Care Unit. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John’s, N.L. Visitation on Monday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon), 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon). Funeral mass (choral) will take place at St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican Church, LeMarchant and St. Clare Avenue at 2 p.m. Tuesday October 14, 2008. Cremation to follow.
