Age 88, (Nov. 6th 1920 to July 3rd, 2009) of Long Harbour and Mount Arlington Heights. Catherine passed peacefully away at Lions Manor Nursing Home, in Placentia, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her: son, Micheal and her loving husband Vincent; her parents: Tom and Cecilia Murphy; her sister and brothers: Monica, Anslem, Alphonsus and Michael Murphy. Left to mourn with beautiful and lasting memories: seven sons and two daughters – Frank (Barb), Tom (Anne Marie), Jim (Geraldine), Ray (Lyla), Anne (Bill Morris), Marion (Jim Fowler), Brian, Don (Andrea Pinsent), Gary (Loretta); 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grand children, two great-great-grandchildren and their partners. Also her sisters and brothers: Genny, Cecilia, Dennis, Thomas, Anthony, their families and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne, Sat. Jul 4, 7 - 9:30 p.m., Sun 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m., Mon 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral mass will take place at St. Francis Xavier RC Church in Long Harbour, Monday, July 6 at 2 p.m. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
