June Peinsznski, 82, of 99 Mira Lea Dr., Dutch Brook, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Garfield and Mae (Bourgeois) MacLellan.
She was a member of St. Anthony Daniel parish.
She was very active with Brookshaven Recreation Centre and loved her game of darts at Brookshaven. Being at home with her family or tending her garden were her most special things.
June is survived by her two sons, John Joseph 'Joey' (Nancy), Sydney, Paul R. 'Jr.' (Heather), Sydney; five grandchildren, Marc (Jody), Christopher (Sheri), Jolene, Paul (Alicia), Colleen (James); great-grandchildren, Joshua and Ryan; two sisters, Helen (John) Fleming, Ontario, Mrs. Jean Peinsznski, Sydney; a sister-in-law, Muriel MacLellan, Ontario; by numerous nieces and nephews and her special companion, P.J. the dog.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Michael in 1975 and six sisters, Mary Power, Marg Power, Garnet MacLean, Phyllis St. George, Thelma MacNevan, Jean in infancy and a brother, John.
Visitation for June Peinsznski will take place Thursday, Feb. 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony Daniel Church with Rev. Donald MacGillivary officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
