Vernon Fraser
WESTVILLE - Vernon John Fraser, age 46, South Main Street, Westville, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with A.L.S.
Born in New Glasgow on May 7, 1964, he was a son of Joyce (Stewart) Fraser, Valley View Villa, and the late Vernon Fraser.
Vernon was a former employee of Trenton Works until its closure. He was also a carpenter by trade, working with various contractors, eventually owning his own contracting company until his illness. Vernon had a love for music, but most of all enjoyed being with his friends and family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife and soul mate, Sally (Fraser); and son, Dylan; also by children: Josie, Colin, Christopher (Katelyn), and Shayla (Robbie Fraser); brothers and sister: Russell MacKay (Yvette Colette), NB; Sheryl Hillier (Tom), Linacy, and Douglas Fraser, Trenton; step-sister, Angela LeBlanc (Danny), Merigomish; brother-in-law, James "Jay" (Pauline) Fraser, Westville; aunt Phyllis Fraser, Stellarton; and close friends, Steven Cyr, Churchville; John Hale, Greenhill.
Visitations will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating.
