It is with broken hearts we the family announce the passing of Constance Marie Fox, 66, of Sydney. She passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer at home on Wednesday, July 8, 2009.
Born in Whitney Pier, she was the daughter of the late Richard ‘Dick’ and Elma (Boutilier) Fogarty.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer parish, Sydney. After leaving Cape Breton, Connie met and married Robert and became an ardent military wife. She loved her travels and looked upon each new posting with fervor and as the beginning of a new adventure. Upon her husband’s retirement, she returned to her beloved Cape Breton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Robert; two sons, Robert (Penny), Pembroke, Ontario, Richard, Sydney; three grandsons, Keenan, Colin, Spencer; two brothers, William, Bangkok, Thailand, Richard, Brockville, Ont.; a sister, Nora (late Joseph) Merendino, Buffalo, N.Y.; and also by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and her Cape Breton family.
She was predeceased by a brother, Brian.
There will be no visitation for the late Mrs. Fox. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating.
Donations to be made in Connie’s memory to the Cancer Centre Cape Breton Regional Hospital or the Holy Redeemer Parish Building Fund.
