With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth Frederick Francis, age 63, on June 22, 2017, at home, with family by his side.
Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Louis and Ruby Francis.
Kenny was a generous man, who worked hard over the years to provide, not only for his family, but for friends and community members in need. Kenny was a carpenter and was willing to help anyone with a project.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed his time spent hunting with his family. He was a proud member of the PLFN Band Council for a number of years.
He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Alice Mae (Toney), children Kenny Joe (Sylvia), Louis, Kelly (Andrew), Billy (Jordan), Tina and Troy. Daughter-in-laws, Stephanie and Melissa, sisters Sarah Clark and Marg Francis; 21 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons; chosen sons Bryan Francis and John Fraser, many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Doug, Matthew, Joseph, Wilfred, Gerald, Lawrence, Noel, Peter, sister Brenda, a brother and granddaughter Shelly both in infancy.
Visitation will be after 2 pm on Sunday, June 25, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Pictou Landing First Nation. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 27, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church with father Tom MacNeil presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
