BRANNON, George Charles - age 82 of Somerset, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25th, 2017, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. He was born November 23rd, 1934, to the late George & Margaret (Cumming) Brannon, in Weston, Ontario. After leaving school, George began a career with The Bank of Nova Scotia in Toronto. Later, he left the bank to work for A.V. Roe Ltd. along with his sister, Marjory and his father, George Sr. on the Avro Arrow program until its cancellation in February 1959. After a 14 year career working for the Federal Government at Downsview Airforce Base in the environmental lab, George began working for the Ford Motor Company until his retirement. In 1993, George and his wife, Erdeena decided to make Somerset, N.S. their home. George is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Erdeena (Woodworth) Brannon, Somerset; sister, Marjory Brannon, Berwick; daughter, Cheryl Brannon (Mike) Berwick; son, Scott Brannon (Wendi) Edmonton, AB; Kenneth Brannon (Sarah) Nauwigewauk, NB. Also grieving the loss of the best Papa, grandchildren, Sean, Holly, Corey, Heather, Christopher, Haley, Benjamin and Sophie; great grandsons, Jackson and Weston. A Memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 27, in Berwick United Church, 240 Commercial St., Berwick, Rev. Tom Woods officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place in Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in George’s memory may be made to Berwick United Church or a charity of donor’s choice.
