GARRON, L. Col. Willard “Will” Austin CD (Ret’d), 77, of Dartmouth.
It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Will A. Garron, who passed away peacefully on August 7, 2017.
Born in Westport, Brier Island, he was a son of the late Belva and Wintford Garron.
A graduate of Acadia University and the Nova Scotia Technical College, Will served a 32 year career with the Canadian Armed Forces as a Military Engineer. After retiring from the Army, he worked for another 5 years as a supervisor with the Dartmouth School Bus System.
Will loved camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends. He never missed the deer season.
Family was his greatest joy and he was instrumental in organizing regular gatherings of all of his family members over the years. He will always be remembered as a cherished husband, loving father and grandfather, who was extremely proud of his three daughters and seven grandchildren.
Will is survived by his wife and best friend Janet; daughters, Wendy (Claude) Demers, B.C., Heather (Greg) Losier, Ont., Christine Garron (Paul Boucher), Dartmouth; seven grandchildren; brothers Wintford “Sonny” (Adera) Garron, Digby, and Lindon (Kim) Garron, N.B.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Gloria Field.
Cremation has taken place. A private interment will take place at a later date in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care, Cobequid Health Care Foundation.
