GRAHAM, RAYMOND - The death of Raymond F. Graham of Saint John West, loving husband to Rhoda Graham, occurred on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in March of 1928 in Perth Andover, NB, he was the son of the late George and Rose (Balch) Boone. Raymond was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War, he served overseas in England and Holland and volunteered with Pacific Occupation Troops. Ray was a Marysville Councillor, Director of Marysville Teen Town, Provincial Director of National Campers and Hikers, a member of St. Marks United Church and past member of the South Bay United Church, Chair of The Saint John Presbytery United Church Board, serving from 1962 to 1998. Ray was an Electronic Technician and worked for Capital Sales and Consolidated Supplies for many years. In later years he worked for the Commissionaires and was a guard at CBC and Ridgewood Veterans Hospital. He had a passion for baseball and hockey; and taught baseball in Marysville and Saint John for many years; from1953-59 he was associated with the Milwaukee Braves. Besides his loving wife of 64 years, Rhoda, Ray is survived by his son Gary Frederick (Coleen) of Quispamsis and daughter Carol Rose Cunningham (Terry) of Saint John; one brother David Boone (Juanita) of Fredericton and sister-in-law Diane Boone of Alberta; five grandchildren Krista Graham (Mike Knudson), Alicia Walls (Jamie), Patricia Graham, Alex Cunningham and Mallory Cunningham; two precious great-grandchildren Whitney and Wesley Walls; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Ray was predeceased by his son Dale Robert Graham and one brother Stirling Boone.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road with visitation on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Marks United Church, 50 Dexter Drive, Saint John, on Tuesday, April 26th at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Ext.
