McNutt, Ronald Lawrence – 79, Upper Onslow
It is with heavy hearts the family announce the passing of their loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Monday, April 25, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Lee and Edith (MacKenzie) McNutt. Over the years, Ronald worked for Domtar, Latimer Construction and Caseys Concrete. Ron retired from the Department of Lands and Forests with over 20 years of service as a night watchman. He enjoyed step dancing, playing guitar and cards. Ron took great pride in his 1986 Chev truck. He is survived by children, Gwen (Jim) Spence, Truro, Jill (Colin) Janes, MacCallum Settlement, Cheryl Reade, Bruce (Kathryn), both of Upper Onslow, Todd (Cynthia), Friendsville, PA., Brad (Krista), Onslow Mountain; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry (Vivian), Harmony, Dan (Joan), Truro; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Rex, Max, Angus and John in infancy; sisters, Lena Terry, Bessie MacKenzie, Ella Whidden. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27 from 7-9 pm; memorial service on Thursday, April 28 at 2:00 pm both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Interment in Aenon Cemetery, North River. Donations may be made to the SPCA or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
