SHARON BURGESS

SHARON BURGESS

May 7, 1947 - November 3, 2017
It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my wife and soul mate of almost 30 years, Sharon "Sheree" Rose Mary Burgess. Sheree left this life peacefully at our Langdale home on Friday, November 3, 2017 with her loving family and friends at her side. Sheree was born on May 7, 1947 in Vancouver, BC, daughter of Clifford and Rose Dawley. Her death followed a lengthy battle with cancer; in her final days she could fight no longer. I am so proud of her, she squeezed what pleasures she could from the hand she was dealt in life, she did not complain and left under her own terms. To the end she was a strong, caring and vibrant lady, mother and loving wife. Sheree, our chance meeting in 1987 led to the best years of my life. You are my wife, best friend, lover and confidante; I love you dearly!
Over our years together, Sheree lived in Vancouver, Richmond, Kamloops and finally Langdale in 2001. During her remissions Sheree loved to sail and fish along the Sunshine Coast. She enjoyed the coastal life with fine neighbours, friends and the tranquility that only the Sunshine Coast can provide.
Sheree is survived by her husband Len of Langdale, BC, daughters Jacquie (Darren) of Langley, BC, Leah (Shane) of Surrey, BC, Michelle of Delta, BC, son Michael (Tamara) of Surrey, BC; granddaughters Krista (Dee) of Vancouver, BC, Grace and Rose of Surrey, BC, grandsons Nick of Vancouver, BC and Chris of Vancouver, BC; great-grandson Nolan of Vancouver, BC. Sheree is preceded in death by her father Clifford and mother Rose.
Very special thanks to Dr. Sarah Wadge and Dr. Daren Spithoff for making Sheree's final hours bearable; Vancouver Coastal Health Care workers, Vancouver Coastal Health Palliative Care Unit, Sechelt Hospital staff, especially the food preparation unit that, during her hospitalization, catered to her every need. All of you eased the pain that my wife suffered throughout the latter stages of her illness.

Hole in My Heart
To keep on going since you've gone
Is the hardest thing I've ever done
I wear a mask from day to day
And try to cope in my own way
I'll miss you 'til we meet again
And yearn for you each day 'til then
There's now a hole no one can fill
Within my heart ...I love you still
Patel

Sheree, I miss you my love. I will never forget you. I shall love you forever!
At Sheree's request there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Agency or Sechelt Hospital will be appreciated.
